In the best tradition of my role as seamstress to royalty, when young Princess Grace decided she would go as Rapunzel to the school book week festival, there arose the issue of creating the royal hair. Several metres of hair… A lengthy remnant of curtain fabric did the trick – a golden brown organza – which was duly plaited then glued to a royal bow. It was indeed the crowning glory to her gown (cut from a beautiful silk sari) and another remnant – velvet this time – that made the perfect royal cape. Job done.
